Prince Philip, the late husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, was laid to relaxation Saturday in an intimate service at St. George’s Chapel, which lies throughout the grounds of Windsor Citadel.

By royal requirements, the service was a comparatively muted affair. The ceremony was restricted to 30 folks, according to England’s present coronavirus restrictions. These in attendance included senior members of the royal household in addition to relations and a few of Philip’s shut buddies.

Philip’s coffin was taken to the chapel in a procession led by the Band of the Grenadier Guards. A Land Rover carrying his coffin was adopted on foot by his kids, different members of the royal household, and royal aides. The Queen arrived on the chapel individually.

Philip, also called the Duke of Edinburgh, died on the age of 99 on April 9. He was the nation’s longest-serving consort — the title used to explain the partner of a reigning monarch — and he had been married to the Queen for 73 years.
